SCS Byfleet/Supporting The Subway Sect

Last Saturday was another gig by SERIOUS CHORD SQUAD over at The Blue Anchor in Byfleet. Prior to the gig we had info that there was going to be a good turnout for this gig. The usual suspects turned up, great to see so many people that we know. A regular crowd is starting to turn up at the gigs making a great atmosphere. I'd like to thank Mr. Harris for turning up and reviewing us for his blog and taking the photos you see here.

We had a great night out on Saturday - at The Blue Anchor, Byfleet where we saw old friends.........and enjoyed a night out with 'The Serious Chord Squad' one of my favourite bands;SQS are Darren, Mike, Vere and Andrew and formed when 'The Highs' split up. They've been banging out MOD classics, some Soul, Paul Weller, some Jam and Style Council and a bit of Britpop for about a year now;
They're more raw, there's more energy - just the way I like it - a great night that only ended at midnight.There were some great, classic Rhythm and Blues;

A real MOD night out!

Buns, Buns, Lemonade

I'm a film star at last! Well anyway I'm in a film. A short film created by The Bitter Springs to publicise their song "Some Muthas Do 'Ave 'Em" from their lastest album, "Cuttlefish and Love's Remains."

A local line dancing class in Hampton has their ghettoblaster stolen and their line dancing class cannot take place. Luckily The Bitter Springs are on their way past and when they find out about the line dancing classes' predicament they offer their musical services on condition of being paid in Belgian buns and lemonade. After their performance they find out that the buns and lemonade have been stolen as well.

This week The Bitter Springs had a gig all the way up in Nottingham at the The Polish Eagle Club and a fine venue it was too. Great night with another two great support bands.

The next gig is with Serious Chord Squad at The Blue Anchor, 155 High Street. Byfleet. Saturday 16th April from 8:00pm onwards. An evening of Mod and Soul hits.

More Gigs on the Horizon

With the Mods for Millie Charity event all done and dusted it was always going to be a quiet week. The grand total that the event raised was £4000. We even got a photo and a mention in The Woking Advertiser. Well done to Serious Chord Squad member Mike Thompson for sorting it all out. Thanks to Sean Cooke (Radio Woking) for technical stuff on the day and compering plus murdering "Parklife." No, we thought he did a grand job. Big thanks to Sam Molnar for sorting out the pub stuff at the Blue Anchor.
